Analyses of the Material

In total, the directory comprises 467 contemporary prints, 145 press reports and 1863 visual sources. These data were collected by the editors as part of their research on the role of the empress in the symbolic-ritual constitution of the Holy Roman Empire; initial analyses of the source material can be found in the following presentations and publications resulting from the project.

I. Blog “Kaiserin und Reich” by Katrin Keller

The blog accompanied the research project from May 2016 to May 2020, presenting source material, research results, relevant publications and information on the research project (e.g. events). The aim was not only to document one’s own work, but also to draw the interest of research and the public to this topic.
