The research was conducted between January 2018 and December 2019:
1. in online databases such as Das Graphikportal, Digitaler Portraitindex, Bildindex der Kunst und Architektur, Virtuelles Kupferstichkabinett, Bildarchiv Austria, LostART etc. as well as in interactive catalogues of coin cabinets such as that of the National Museums in Berlin and the numerous museum databases such as Albertina, KHM, GNM. Last but not least, numerous works were also found via Google and Wikicommons, although sometimes without indicating the place of storage.
2. in relevant secondary literature, such as John Roger Paas, The German Political Broadsheet 1600-1700, Wolfgang Harms, Deutsche Illustrierte Flugblätter des 16. und 17. Jahrhunderts, Annelise Stemper, Die Medaillen der Pfalzgrafen und Kurfürsten bei Rhein etc. and various exhibition catalogues.
3. in archives.
